A Walk through Munich

This is one of my favorite walks. I get off the S Bahn station at Isar Tor and walk to the Karstadt Bahnhof (2 stops down). It’s great because we get to see the Isar, the Isar Tor, Marienplatz, the Frauenkirche, and lots of other pretty buildings. Today was a beautiful day, so I thought it be nice to take a walk with Darian through Munich.
Darian loves being outside, so he was happy to spend the day with me in Munich.
Here’s Darian in front of the Isar Tor.
It’s a really nice area with lots of friendly people and yummy places to eat.
There’s also a really fancy McDonalds.
Here’s Darian in front of the Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall), which is now a toy museum. We’ve never checked out the museum. I wonder what it’s like…
And here’s Darian hanging out at Marienplatz. The first building is a department store, Ludwig Beck. The next building is the new town hall, which is older the the old town hall because of WWII. The church in the background is the Frauenkirche. I sent this picture to my family in the states, and I got a couple responses asking if we were at disney land. haha. 😉
It’s called the Frauenkirche (Woman’s Church) for obvious reasons. Did the architects think they were funny or were they serious?
Munich is so beautiful. My favorite area is the garden outside the residence by Odensplatz. If we had more time today, we would have had a picnic there. Instead, we grabbed some quick Indian food. Delicious. I love beautiful weather.
