Amsterdam, the Netherlands

This morning, we played with our silly goose, and then when it was nap time, we headed out into the city to help him sleep and see Amsterdam! We started off with a boat tour around the city.

After the boat tour, we walked to the back house where Anne Frank hid. It was a beautiful walk through the city.

Building where Anne Frank hid

We went into Otto Frank’s office to the bookshelf that hid the back house. We went through the secret door and saw the area where the Frank’s, van Daan’s, and Dr. Dussel hid and lived. We weren’t allowed to take any pictures inside. The entire building was turned into a Museum. At the end of the exhibit, there is a video of Otto Frank, Anne’s father talking. He tells about how Miep gave him the diary, and after reading it, he said that he was very surprised because he was so close to Anne, but what she wrote was so knew to him. He concluded that most parents really don’t know their children. He lost his wife and two daughters after they were taken to the house to the concentration camps.
