Sur Bollywood

Sur Bollywood is my favorite Indian returant, and it’s right in Starnberg. They have a room at the front of their restaurant that takes you right to Bollywood! It’s my favorite place to sit.

The first time we went to Sur Bollywood, we saw that they had menu items with four chillies after the menu item’s name. This was big. Unfortunately, the Germans don’t know what spicy is. And when we go to an Indian restaurant, we order meal items with three chillies, and they don’t taste spicy at all. So we ordered a four chilly item, and the waiter tried to question our choice, but we assured him that it would be okay.

Have you ever cried while eating dinner? My whole body was crying: my forehead was sweating, my nose was dripping, and tears were coming out of my eyes. After two small pieces of chicken, there was no going back and no moving forwards. Hector ordered a bunch of yoghurt to cool down the dinner. Uh, uh. My mouth was on fire, and there was nothing to do but stare at my food in defeat. Needless to say, they remembered us after that. We always get a special, personalized greeting when we come in. And I’m pretty sure the waiter tells the cook to give us a spicy level of zero… We definitely lost our spicy rights.

The food tastes great though. But you have to take their chilly system seriously. They’re not messing around.
