High Chair!

Well, today started off funny. We discovered in the morning that we didn’t have any more eggs for breakfast, and that really thew us off. Since I was pregnant, we’ve eaten eggs (egg sandwiches, omelets, scrambled eggs, pop eye eggs, etc) every morning for the protein. I couldn’t stand those nasty, healthy cereals, so we don’t have any cereal. So this morning we had everything we could think of…
…toast, apples and peanut butter, left over pizza, and milk with bananas and berries.. haha
Hector wasn’t feeling very well this afternoon, so while he rested, Darian and I put together his new high chair that came from Amazon today. Darian was a little overwhelmed with all the things we had to do.

I told him that we could definitely do this, so he went back to work.

After tearing up part of the instructions and me taping it back together, Darian went into his Moby carrier, so we could work together. He was very interested in all of the screws.

So I love this high chair, especially because it is dark wood, which will match my new dinning room table that we’ll get when we move to our next home. (Not that we have a new dinning room table picked out yet or a next house.) Our friends, the Staigers, have these chairs, and Hector’s sister’s mother in law bought her grandson one as well. I like it because it fits right up to the table so that Darian can eat at the table with us instead of off in his own corner with a tray. Also, the front holder, which kind of looks like a tray in this picture, can be taken off and the hight adjusted, so he can use it as a chair until he’s a teenager. I’m really happy with it.

Later today, Hector put Darian down on his play mat, which is next to his crib. I put Christmas lights at the bottom of Darian’s crib because he loved staring at them when they were on the Christmas tree. He still has a blast with them, but I will probably have to put them up higher when he starts crawling. But right now, they’re a lot of fun. When Hector put Darian down, he was parallel to his crib. But Darian wanted to touch the lights with his feet and stare at them front on, so he turned himself and had a blast playing with his feet and the lights for at least 20 minutes.

He caught me taking pictures, but he didn’t care. He was having too much fun kicking his lights and singing to his binky. He doesn’t really use his binky properly any more. It’s more like a toy… that and his favorite stuffed animal–the water bottle…
